For the past seven years, I’ve been working remotely in the K-12 ELA and History/ Social Studies educational markets as a freelance writer and editor. My clients include McGraw-Hill, the University of Kansas/CETE, Tighe and Six Red Marbles. I’ve pitched, written, delivered and edited literary and non-fiction passages. In addition, I’ve written multiple-choice, constructed-response, and technology-enhanced items, aligning to standards, for PARCC, SBAC, and others. I’ve worked with over 30 editors and dozens of writers. With experience in passage and item writing, content review and alignment, I know how to both give and incorporate feedback, meet or beat deadlines, and ensure that my work more than satisfies requirements.
