Lesson storyboard creator

Hi all…remember the company I mentioned contacted me? I am not the right person for the gig, so am posting here. The contact, Chakira Lane, is lovely. Here are the details

Please allow me to introduce myself as Chakira Lane, a project manager/executive editor for Integra Software Services Pvt. Ltd. I received your name from the Writing for the Education Market database. I have a new project that should be launching in the next couple of weeks that I’m wondering if you would be interested in.

Client product:
Our client has developed a series of web-based, teacher-led video lessons that covers various subject matter, including ELA, earth science, US history, and others
Scope of work:
Creation of lesson storyboards, plus one round of revision. You would be provided with a  lesson outline called a blueprint that lists the content your lesson must cover. You would use the blueprint and our client’s PPT templates and lesson shells to storyboard the video lesson. The lesson will consist of a series of slides that include on-screen text and teacher notes for audio that discuss how the content should be taught by an on-screen teacher. The instructional slides should also have intermittent assessment tasks to check understanding. Each slide would also include a description, or go-by,  of any accompanying visual elements (e.g., graphics, images, charts).
Project fee: TBD, anticipating approximately $600 per lesson
Contact Chakira at chakira.lane@integra.co.in. Mention that I posted.

One final call for your help

Hi all…final reminder: Brooklyn College Academy, an early college high school in Kensington, is up for a major 100K grant through the Dream Big Teacher Challenge, sponsored by Farmer’s Insurance. WE ARE IN 11TH PLACE! (boo hoo!) Only the top five schools win.

The money, if won, will go to the high school’s newly launched Mindfulness Center, a designated space (recently renovated) where students (and eventually the entire school community) can decompress, negotiate stress, build their socio-emotional resilience. The model is unique because not only will students benefit from mindfulness practices, they will also be trained to be mindfulness practitioners.

The school is one of 15 finalists nationwide in the contest…and the only one in NY State.

This is the final voting week. Might I ask you again to support this amazing project. Check out the coverage we got today: http://brooklyn.news12.com/story/36685378/initiative-creates-mindfulness-rooms-for-nyc-schools

Vote for Linda Noble, Brooklyn College Academy, Mindfulness Center. It’s a daily vote (grrr!) but boy, we need to climb in the ranks. Only five schools win.

Thanks so much

HELP, BUT OFF TOPIC…SORT OF

So…since we are in the education world together, I am hoping you can help. Some of you may be mad that I am posting this (that’s OK…you can tell me). But, actually, it’s fine with me if similar things are posted in the name of education and supporting teachers and students.

I’ve been fundraising for schools as a volunteer for a while. My son’s high school is up for a 100K award for its new Mindfulness Center, which I helped to launch. It’s a unique site-based place where high school students will be able to meditate, reflect…essentially decompress. And they will also learn to be mindful practitioners. I wrote a proposal for the Dream Big Teacher Challenge through Farmers’ Insurance and well, we are one of 15 finalists nationwide up for the grant, and the only school in NYS.

Awesome, but…in order to be one of the five winners, we need folks to vote and vote daily (hard to do). Am putting it out there…if you can support highly engaged, low-income, college-centric, driven students get major funding to support an amazing socio-emotional educational program, that would be great. And if you can let your networks know, even better.

Here is the link for voting: https://www.farmers.com/thank-americas-teachers/vote-for-a-teacher/vote-100k-proposal/  The teacher is Linda Noble, the school is Brooklyn College Academy, the project is the Mindfulness Center. I can send more info (even the proposal, which describes it all!)

Here are two links to some small coverage we received that can give you a bit more insight.
